Meet the Rachel Hicks Media Team

Rachel Hicks - Journalist, Film Maker & Media Trainer

BBC trained journalist Rachel worked in radio and TV for 15 years. A seasoned filmmaker, she has interviewed Tony Blair, The Chippendales and everyone in between, and has produced and anchored hundreds of news programmes. She’s an expert media trainer with 20 years experience of helping clients nail successful interviews. Crisis communications is her speciality. Her news background means she tells great stories, translated into brilliant films, from small budget, 36-hour turnaround productions to a year of filming for a documentary. She sold her share in her previous media company in 2013 and then founded Rachel Hicks Media.

Esmond Holden - Journalist & Media Trainer

Esmond reported for BBC radio and TV for 10 years. He’s interviewed many senior politicians, including Chancellors, Home Secretaries and Deputy Prime Ministers.  He has the instincts of a newshound and knows what makes a good story, how to tell it and how to help others do the same. He’s also an award winning photographer.

Michele Wheatley - Media Trainer

Michele trained and worked as a journalist before moving into communications and PR. For 25 years she has been delivering expert Media and Crisis Training, Community and Media relations, Environmental issues and Stakeholder Communications programmes. She has a passion for helping companies engage with communities and non-expert audiences and has developed extensive experience in the area of sustainability.

David Passmore - Journalist & Film Maker

David is a highly experienced and award winning TV producer, presenter and reporter. He is also an accomplished film maker and media trainer. He produces videos for broadcast and a wide range of websites. In a previous life he was the Sports Editor at Points West - the BBC Regional News Programme based in Bristol.

Steve Dann - Lighting Cameraman

Steve is a news cameraman for ITN and Channel 4. He’s filmed in war zones and famine areas.  He’s been shot at twice, once in Sarajevo, once in Swindon. He says his best shoot ever was from the back seat of an RAF Hawk fast jet for the Royal International Air Tattoo (and of course everything he does with with RHM!)

Mark Bloomfield - DOP & Lighting Cameraman

Mark loves working near the water with us, as he is a keen sailor.  He shoots for many of the world's television networks and organisations taking him to over 100 countries worldwide. He is equally at home in a film or television studio environment organising a team of technicians, or filming on location working one to one with a director, producer or contributor.
